Q
What is the Paper Perfection workshop all about?
A
Paper as a medium is generally seen as a material that tends to be disposable and impermanent, making it is easy to overlook. However Sarah Kelly's aim is to introduce creative minds to the real magic paper holds. By demonstrating the capabilities of paper through examples of her own work, Sarah will illustrate why this is one of the longest used and most versatile materials available. Paper is an ideal material to help with the understanding of form, scale, texture, colour and pattern. Paper allows pupils to explore visual, tactile and other sensory experiences, communicating their ideas and meanings in an accessible, lightweight and economical way. This 'paper perfection' workshop will encourage practical ‘hands on’ experimentation and learning through a series of demonstrations which will show how paper can be texturised, formed and finished to create beautiful dimensional objects and jewellery.
