Tony Minnion is an artist who
works with textiles exploring
traditional and new technology. |
|
Most of his work is community
and education based and he
has extensive experience of
running collaborative art
projects that combine active
participation with impressive
outcomes often in the form of
large fabric banners and flags
for public display. |
|
Tony set up the London based arts
organisation Cloth of Gold and over
18 years ran more than 500
residencies in schools across London
and nationally at primary and
secondary level. |

| He collaborates across many different art forms with writers, story tellers, photographers, performers, musicians, DJ’s, scientists, fashions designers and poets and has worked with a wide range of partners including Tate Gallery (Britain and Modern), Museum of Modern Art – Oxford, British Museum, Horniman Museum, BBC, Stephen Lawrence Trust, St Paul’s Cathedral, Exeter Cathedral, the Barbican and the South Bank Centre. |

| Now based in Redruth, Cornwall he has spent the last seven years enjoying working in the South West delivering projects and training throughout Cornwall, Devon and The Isles of Scilly. |
|
| Tony’s approach ensures that the work delivered is appropriate and enjoyable for people of all ages and abilities and involves participants in a wide range of different creative activities. Workshops introduce new creative techniques and processes, develop skills and share ideas that can be developed and sustained beyond the life of the project. |
|
| Tony also offers specialist advice and support on the printing, finishing and hanging of banners and flags (for both inside and outside) and integrating pupils work throughout the school into many different outcomes (including signage, blinds, curtains and soft furnishings). |
|
| He is particularly skilled at working creatively with people and computers without getting bogged down with the technology. |
